Road Maintenance Seasonal Employment
Ringgold County Secondary Roads Department has position openings for Road Maintenance Seasonal Employment.  

  • Temporary
  • 40+/- hours per week, depending on department needs
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Heavy equipment/road work experience preferred, but not required
  • 18 years or older; high school diploma or GED
  • Lift up to 100 pounds
  • Pay starting at $17.81, no benefits available

The Ringgold County Sherriff’s Office is accepting applications for Dispatcher/Jailer.  This is a full-time position and will consist of day and night shift hours, holidays and weekends.  Duties will include, but not limited to, receiving information requiring law enforcement, fire and/or medical response and transferring the information via radio and/or phone to proper emergency or non-emergency services. Starting pay for this position is $16.23 an hour non-certified applicant. With increases up to $19.23 after successful completion of training and orientation/probation period. Benefits include IPERS retirement, full single health/dental/vision and paid leave. Pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check required. Uniform will be provided.

Emergency Management Coordinator/E911 Director/Flood Plain Manager
Duties shall include (but not limited to): Monitoring and updating revisions to various emergency plans, preparing and managing department budget, systems and operations relating to hazardous materials, shelter systems, natural or environmental disasters and related catastrophes. The individual shall be able to design specific exercises which are developed to test the community response to various events pursuant to federal/state guidelines and prepare required federal/state/county reports relating to program accomplishments, goals and objectives. Additionally, the individual shall create and maintain an enhanced E911 service plan and maintain all E911 communication equipment located in Ringgold County. Also, perform Flood Plain Manager duties as needed, update and submit new building applications for approval.

40 hours per week, Mon. – Fri, and occasional weekends/evenings. Salary to be determined and will depend upon successful candidates’ qualifications.
